Sale is situated on the A56 connecting NW Lancashire and Yorkshire with Cheshire. From Colne to Chester, this main highway determined Sale's development.

Sale is within easy reach of the motorways M61, M62, M60 and M56. Regular bus services travel to all areas of Trafford, Manchester, Salford and Bollin. Manchester airport is only a 15min drive away, is accessible by bus and a metrolink line is planned for the future.

There are good parking facilities in the town and cycle stands on School Rd and in the Square at Sale Shopping Centre. The Bridgewater Canal runs through the centre of Sale and is the home of the Sale Cruising Club.

Whatever your taste in cuisine, Sale offers a truly cosmopolitan selection of hotels, restaurants, cafes, take-aways, sandwich bars and public houses.

Explore the canalside leisure area alongside the Town Hall. There is easy access for the able and disabled to the canal bank where you can sit and watch the boats go by.

Sale is compact and mainly flat, making it easier to navigate for push chair an wheelchair users. Children are welcome in many eateries, some providing highchairs.
